Without the written descriptions of civilizations and human societies, it would be impossible for the future generations to learn of a particular cultural/nation or society that existed in the past. There are versatile ways through which an anthropologist can collect data for ethnography. The most common and the easiest way to collect data is by observing the participants. An of a conversatio - Essay ExampleI am a frequent visitor to the college canteen at present and I cannot forget a dialogue between two American males which I observed during one of my initial visits to canteen, sitting near to them. The conversation was as followsThe conversation continued for more or less 15 minutes till they finish their snacks and coffee. I have noticed that most of their communication occurred using sign(a) means. Facial expressions, body languages and gestures were used extensively to communicate effectively between them. I think only around 40% of their communication occurred verbally whereas around 60% occurred nonverbally.I have realized that the joy of purchasing a new product is a universal one and even the Americans are overwhelmed by the purchasing of a new product which they cherished for a long time. In my country also, people often express their joy eon they were able-bodied to purchase a new product. The speakers seem to be close friends as they have often patted each other on the bodies to express their joy while their short stays at the canteen. Both of them were in a pleasant mood during their conversation. But the moods swung rapidly from joy to surprise, anxiety ecstasy etc during their conversation. In fact, I thought of having a chat with them initially. But decide against it later after a careful thought since I was not much confident some my language abilities in English. I have realized that I need to develop my English language skills in order to communicate effectively with them. Moreover, I thought I need to study them from a distance to know more almost them and their attitudes before establishing a company with them. Better knowledge about them would help me to communicate better with

Learning Strategies Rely Heavily on Employee Involvement - Essay ExampleThe generally practiced HR policies of Equipos included fifty-fifty training, communication, setting of lucid and consistent objectives, high wages, acknowledgment for accomplishments, team works, flat organization structure, in addition to a learning-oriented organizational culture. These factors motivated the employees to perform and puzzle to the management practices, which enabled Equipos to develop into a learning organization. Contribution This study can be beneficial for hold oning how in spite of cultural differences between the parent confederacy and the subsidiary, the organization can efficiently accomplish its business strategies with the help of its employees participation by motivating them. Keywords Motivation, Culture, Employee Participation, HR Practices, Management Practices. Table of Contents Abstract 2 Introduction 5 Discussion 6 Conclusion 12 References 13 Introduction The modern day orga nizations are striving hard to sustain their merchandise position in the prevalent competitive business circumstances and gain a competitive advantage over their peers. In doing so, a large exit of business organizations are shifting their orientation towards management approaches that encourage organizational learning. It had been observed that multinational corporations (MNCs) that are focused towards global learning have succeed competitiveness and agility to handle the escalating intricacies of the global business environment (Bartlett & Ghoshal, 1989). However, when the MNCs employ learning approaches in their subsidiaries that are located in foreign lands, it is important for these MNCs to comprehend the issues that could impact the execution of various management practices that assist learning. Some of the major issues that could impact the execution of the management practices are difference in culture, and other environmental aspects such as socioeconomic, political, edu cational, and legal issues (Adler, 1997 Farmer & Richman, 1970 Negandhi & Prasad, 1971). Hence, while spreading the learning practices to their subsidiaries, it is essential for the management of the MNCs to recognize the extent to which miscellaneous issues together with, but not restricted to the domestic cultural principles, have an effect on the transferability of diverse management practices. Managers should be aware of what issues might aid the accomplishment of learning strategies that ab initio seem to be contrary and mismatched with the culture of a nation. Gomez (20043) had stated that Learning strategies rely heavily on employee involvement. Gomez (2004) had stated so in his article, where he discussed the case of an American MNC and its Mexican subsidiary Equipos. Equipos had effectively taken up the attributes of a learning organization from its US based parent organization. This is in contrast to the widely perceived notion that the employee participation and other ma nagement practices that are related to a learning strategy are generally incommensurable in the cross-cultural context. The paper essentially accentuates on how the employees were encouraged to involve themselves in the learning organisation atmosphere of Equipos. In the process of discussing the strategies employed by the management of Equipos, the paper also draws on the theories of motivation as well as cross-culture. Discussion It is

The Devil Wears Prada Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
The Devil Wears Prada - Essay ExampleAndrea is the second assistant, the first assistant underscores to her, and that virtually makes her the slave of a slave. E genuinelyone in the organization and in that milieu tells her that, and yet in the same breath intimates that it is a frolic that every girl would die for.As the start, Andrea sees the job as merely her entry point into the more real world of journalism, and she hopes the training she would receive under her Dragon Lady of a boss would give her the qualifications and documentation for more serious work. Gradually though, she is fascinated by the glitter and glamour of the world that she has entered and finds herself struggling not only to survive but to conquer, using the very tools of the trade, so to speak, necessary to get ahead. She is, in fact, obviously also fascinated by the persona and aura projected by her boss, Melinda, a sleek, soft-spoken madam who inspires and commands respect and fear because she wields such power and influence within the industry. It likewise soon becomes obvious that while before, Andreas goal is merely to please Melinda and thus promise her job, she eventually begins to fit into the impression of her boss. And therein lies her struggle - apparent in the change that her boyfriend Nath and two other close friends observe. She tries to keep the friends and values she has cognise and cherished but now seems to find them in conflict with the new world she moves in and which, if she were honest with herself as Nath had asked her to be, she actually reveled in. Her crucial moment of equity and decision comes when she realizes that beneath the brittle veneer of might and power that Melinda Priestly presents to the world is a very human person - caring about family, safety-related of her children, hurt by the loss of a husband through divorce. Does Melinda Priestly really enjoy the kind of leader she has become, or has she been forced to fit into this mold - forced to b e tough, work-oriented, utilitarian, uncaring - because that is what is expected of her as editor of the most powerful and influential fashion magazine, because that is the only way she can get the job done. Andrea gets a glimpse of this when Melinda explains why she had to sacrifice one of her oldest and closest friends and a most loyal associate - to ensure that she is not replaced as editor. Quite plainly she explains that no one can take her place because the magazine cannot hold on to its coveted spot as fashion leader without her at the helm.On the surface, the movie seems to provide a literal example of the absence of handmaid-leadership as defined in the philosophy and concepts advanced by Robert Greenleaf and by the idea espoused by various religious traditions.By its title alone, The Devil Wears Prada, it is obvious that the movie means to depict the lead character in the image of the antithesis of the archetype of servant leadership, the Christians Jesus Christ. The Chr ist spirit in the Christian Scriptures manifests the values of leadership and a relationship that involves patience, kindness, humility, respectfulness, selflessness,

Inception of Activity Based Costing Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Inception of Activity Based Costing - Essay ExampleActivity-based be enables reasonably accurate tryst of overheads. The activities in an organization are spread across the organizational processes and value chain. The traditional methods of courting faced severe critique due to inaccuracies. While it is easy to make out direct costs to individual products in a company with a wide product mix, it is difficult to apportion indirect costs to the products. Therefore traditional methods sought estimates to assign overhead costs. In the earlier paradigm, Labor costs constituted a substantial subtract of the total cost of manufacture. Therefore direct labour costs were used to assign the overhead costs to various jobs relating to the manufacture of products. But today there has been a paradigm shift with technology pervading the value chain replacing a large chunk of Labor by automated processes. The proportion of materials cost in many industries has augmented with the dwindling of labour costs. Similarly increasing automation and shrinking life span of instruments have led to the increase in capital costs. There has also been a concomitant increase in overhead costs pertaining to information technology and depreciation of expensive plant and machinery, living and utilities in most industries. In the new paradigm, the companies found direct labour as the basis for apportionment of overheads inaccurate to capture the costs for the products. The companies, therefore, used machine hours instead of direct Labor for apportioning the overhead costs. With the growing complexity of manufacturing processes, neither direct Labor nor machine hour would suffice as bases for allocation of overhead costs to processes of products. Therefore the new circumstances demanded multiple bases for allocation of overhead costs. These factors paved the way for the evolution of activity-based costing, which uses multiple bases for overhead allocation.

Leadership - Essay ExampleReluctant leading are normally endowed with leadership skills and with proper training and mentorship, reluctant leaders turn out to be very strong and adequate leaders as the author of this article states, reluctant leaders present skills to be thin managers but dirty dogt imagine themselves succeeding in a leadership role.Arrogant leaders refer to the category of people who, though they have insecurities just like the reluctant leaders, they however believe that they are strong and competent leaders. The arrogant leaders compensate for their insecurities through convincing themvelves that they are competent leaders unlike the reluctant leaders who manifest low self-esteem, the arrogant leaders manifest strong self-confidence and self-conviction in their capabilities as leaders. The arrogant leaders are normally ambitious self-marketers for this reason, arrogant leaders are mainly promoted to positions of leadership by many organisations, unlike the rel uctant leaders who do not showcase their leadership skills. Unlike the reluctant leaders, the arrogant leaders lack natural leadership skills and for this reason, arrogant leaders can wreak havoc in the groups or the teams that they are leading. This is because arrogant leaders are not humble and they believe that they know all they need to know in leadership and in relating with the people they lead. For this reason, transforming arrogant leaders into competent leaders is a challenging task that requires the arrogant leaders to be helped to recognize their own failinges and limitations, so that they can be humble enough to learn more about leadership so as to be able to relate better with the people they lead. mystical leaders refer to a category of leaders who are quite competent leaders and they are also ambitious, but they have a weakness in forming relationships with other people unknown leaders are cautious and they form relationships with other people more slowly and tentati vely than other

Theme in Hamlet Essay Example for Free
Theme in crossroads EssayB.) with strident contrast, a character flummox enhances certain attributes of a central character. Analyze how unessential characters operate as foils and are employed to groom theme in settle ment. In Shakespeares play settlement, it is proven that secondary characters do develop the understanding of the main character as foils. Foils help the reader make comparisons in the midst of the major and minor characters through and through par eachels. During the play we see some of hamlets strengths and weaknesses through characters like Laertes and Fortinbras. Other minor characters include Ophelia, Polonius, and Gertrude who contributes to Hamlets so called madness, which helps develop the theme of a heros fatal flaw of overthinking leading to tragedy. In this essay I will explain the similarities, differences and relationships mingled with each foil and how their behaviors affect Hamlet personally. Through pop out the play Hamlet displays a di fficulty in qualification final decisions due to his overthinking unlike Laertes and Fortinbras who tends to make rash decisions establish upon feelings. Firstly, Hamlets inability to kill Claudius is foiled by Fortinbras willingness to avenge his brings lost kingdom over a small eon of land. Secondly, Hamlet and Laertes have different types relationships with their fathers, Hamlet despises Claudius where as Laertes loved Polonius. These relationships cause both Laertes and Hamlet wanting to avenge the murders of their fathers but for different reasons. While Laertes is unconquerable to instantly retaliate, Hamlet on the different hand prolongs his revenge due to his natural flaw of overanalyzing. Thirdly, both Laertes and Hamlet have similar obsessions towards their women and the preservation of sanctity. Hamlet is confused and enraged about his mothers incestuous marriage to his uncle and Laertes is anxious about his sisters relationship with Hamlet. The parallels between the secondary foils help the audiences gain a better understanding of Hamlets fatal flaw of over-proces depravityg throughout the play.In Shakespeares play Hamlet, Fortinbras the prince of Norway and Hamlet the prince of Denmark share many similarities and differences thus making Fortinbras an important secondary character and a foil to Hamlet. Fortinbras father was slain by Hamlets father and Hamlets father, Hamlet Sr was poisoned his brother Claudius who is now the king of Denmark. Fortinbras wishes to attack Denmark to avenge his fathers honor and Hamlet wishes to someday kill Claudius as revenge for his father. This is thimpostume of much wealth and peace, that inward breaks and shows no cause without why the man dies (A.4.s4, 26-28).Hamlet remarks on Fortinbras invasion and views it as unnecessary but Fortinbras tells the police captain to lie to the king assuring him that his only intentions were to travel through Denmark to get to Poland. This is the first epoch Fortinbras is shown as a real and imminent threat to the asseverate of Denmark. Why yet I live to say this things to do, Sith I have cause and will and strength and means to dot. (A.4.s4, 43-44). Hamlet contemplates his purpose of living and questions why he keepnot go through with murdering Claudius. He is coming to a realization that his plan is taking a long time to execute and e really single advantage is on his side except the act itself.Witness this army of such mass and charge led by a delicate and tender prince, whose spirit divine ambition puffed makes mouths at the invisible event, exposing what is moral and unsure to all that fortune, death, and danger dare, even for an eggshell (A.4.s4, 46-52). Hamlet shows admiration for the princes ambition to fight for no good reason but is aware of the severity of war. In this scene we see Hamlet succumbing to his over analytic thought process while Fortinbras is provision to defeat the king with little judgment.Fortinbras ability to act foils Hamlets inability to act, while Fortinbras is attacking without regard towards himself, his men or his country Hamlet complies with reason to not attack. This reveals Fortinbras hunger for not only revenge but also motive like Hamlet both are only crowned as only princes and not kings subsequently the death of their fathers.Hamlet and Fortinbras share related backgrounds of macrocosm raised among the wealthy, both princes had the opportunity of being king and both are seeking revenge for their slain fathers. Although sharing many similarities appearances do not geminate reality and signifies the contradiction of great minds think alike. Ultimately, Hamlets overthinking leads to his downfall and Fortinbras successfully conquers Denmark and becomes king.Laertes is another important secondary foil to Hamlet also sharing many similarities and differences that highlights Hamlets weaknesses. Laertes and Hamlet share the similarity of quick irrational passion. Hamlet stabs Polon ius during the heat of an argument and Laertes threatens to kill the king without remorse after the death of Polonius. Hamlets father, Hamlet Sr. was secretly poisoned by king Claudius, which was revealed to Hamlet by the ghost of his father. Since, Hamlet has become obsessed with the subject of avenging his fathers death but delays because of his natural flaw of overthinking.Hamlet hesitates to kill Claudius during his confession because he believed that he would spare him of his crime, he wants to catch Claudius during sin because he would be eternally damned. He wants Claudius to suffer the consequences and decides to wait meanwhile Claudius wants to eliminate Hamlet because of his madness but does not want appear trusty for doing so. Of impious stubbornness. Tis unmanly grief. It shows a will most incorrect to heaven, a heart unfortified, a mind impatient, an understanding simple and unschooled (A.1.s2, 94-97). Claudius scolds Hamlet on his incapability to forget about his fat her, he views it as unmanly and immature. He also considers Hamlets mourning useless and long overdue, if the state of Denmark can get over it so can Hamlet. Neither a borrower nor lender be, for loan oft loses both itself and a friend, and borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry. This above all to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night they day, though canst not be false to any man. Farewell. My blessing season this in thee (A1.s3, 75-81). to begin with parting ways Polonius offers Laertes a few words of wisdom about friendships, self control, appearance and judgment. Overall he advises his son to remain true to himself as you can see Polonius shows a strong love and bond for his son. After embarking on his trip to Paris Polonius sends Reynaldo to rat on Laertes although his intentions are good, he wants to get wind that Laertes remains studying and not misbehaving. Something have you heard of Hamlets transformation- so call it, since nor th exterior nor inward man resembles what it was. What it should be, more than his fathers death, that hath put him so much from thunderstanding of himself, I cannot dream of (A.2.s2, 5-10). Claudius discusses his stepsons madness with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern who are longtime friends of Hamlet, during the discussion he asks them to spy on Hamlet and keep a constant eye on his unpredictable behavior.Claudius and Hamlets relationship also depicts an absence of trust between the two. To understand the relationships between the two fathers and sons we must juxtapose the character traits of each individual. Claudius is conniving and scheming his motive of achieving absolute power is made clear throughout the play. He manipulates the state of Denmark to believing that his disorder of murder and incest within the country is acceptable. Claudius wants everyone to believe that he worries for Hamlet but truly thinks of Hamlet as a threat, so much so he strategizes a plan to do away with him for good. Polonius unl ike Claudius has good intentions overall but often wounds up making false conclusions throughout the play.As the kings trusted Lord of Chamberlain Polonius cares a great deal about his record and like the king views Hamlet as a threat. Throughout the play Polonius helps the king spy on Hamlet and advises his daughter Ophelia to stay away from his madness. Polonius genuinely adores his children and is often showing that through words of wisdom. Laertes models many of Poloniuss traits except the fact that he quick hard-boiled. After hearing about the death his father Laertes immediately assumes Claudius as the murderer.Laertes makes it very clear to Claudius that he cares less about his reputation and is willing to do anything as long as it means revenge. Hamlet is also quick tempered although he overthinks many little details, he wasnt thinking at all when he accidentally killed Polonius. During an argument with Gertrude he sensed someone loafer the curtain and instantly assumed i t was Claudius. Hamlet wants to kill his uncle during sin, throughout the play we see Hamlet trying to prove his uncles guilt before planning any type of retaliation. Both families resemble many distinguishable traits that resulted to their tragic downfalls such as lying, spying and over processing. Both relationships foil each other in a sense because both are different and highlights not only Hamlets weakness but Laertes weakness as well. In the end Laertes forgave Hamlet for the death of his father but was killed by Hamlet during fencing duel and Hamlet poisoned Claudius. Hamlet was wounded and killed by Laertes sword that was antecedently poisoned.Another example of Laertes being a significant secondary foil to Hamlet is shown through the different obsessions with women. Hamlets reacts violently towards Gertrude and Ophelia sexuality as opposed to Laertes who takes a calmer approach. Gertrude is Hamlets mother and the widow to Hamlet Sr. after the death of her husband she marries Hamlets uncle Claudius. Ophelia is the daughter of Polonius and Laertes junior sister she is also Hamletsold lover. Hamlet makes it no secret that he is disgusted with his mothers marriage to his uncle Claudius. He is angry with his mother Gertrude for accommodate her love for his father and settling for Claudius. Laertes on the other hand is very protective over his sisters abstinence, like most Elizabethan men he highly values purity and is disgusted with anything less. She married- O, most wicked speed, to post with such dexterity to incestuous sheets (A.1.s2.156-157). Hamlet believes that his mothers marriage is incestuous and believes that his mother did not take time to fully mourn the death of the previous king. The thought of Gertrudes sexual relationship with Claudius consumes Hamlet, comparing it to an neglected garden he says, tis an unweeded garden that grows to seed.Things rank and gross in nature merely possesses it (A.1.s2.135-137) Gertrudes sexual relationship leave s Hamlet with a sense of a contaminated world, his disgust is so great that he eventually feels this way towards all women including Ophelia. Get thee to a nunnery Why wouldst thou be a breeder of sinners? I am myself indifferent honest, but yet I could accuse me of such things that it were better mother had not borne me. I am very proud, revengeful, aspirant with more offences at my beck than thoughts I put them in, imagination to give them shape, or time to act them in (A.3.s1.121-127).Hamlet believes that women are the roots of evil he accuses Ophelia of being promiscuous and insists she is dishonest. Ophelia is distancing herself from Hamlet because her father advises her that he is mad and to not associate herself with him for the sake of a good reputation. Laertes also agrees with Polonius on this matter of a good reputation as he is trying hard to preserve Ophelias purity. Fear it, my dear sister and keep you in the rear of your affection, out of the shot and danger of desir e.The chariest maid is prodigal enough, if she unmask her beauty to the moon. Virtue itself scapes not calumnious strokes. The canker galls the infants to the spring, too oft before their buttons be disclosed. And in the morn and liquid dew of youth(A.1.s3.33-42). In this quote Laertes reinforces his fathers advice to Ophelia to not let her love for Hamlet become a target of lust. He also advises her to guard her good reputation because even worms ruin flowers before they blossom. Laertes does not want Hamlet to interfere with his sisters good reputation and does not want his false pretenses to interfere with her morals. In the Elizabethan times a deflowered woman was considered to be damaged goods that no man would marry, Laertes fears Hamlet taking advantage of his little sister and he wants to keep her chaste until marriage. Both Hamlet and Laertes struggle to come to terms with their loved ones sexuality but they go about it differently. Hamlet is more aggressive towards Gertrude after murdering Polonius as opposed to Laertes who takes a more understanding approach and offers his advice. This brings out Hamlets trait of being more forward and harshly enthusiastic towards his mothers relationship, which is caused by his flaw of overthinking. In conclusion in Shakespeares play Hamlet, secondary foils highlight Hamlets flaw of overthinking. Foils help the reader compare and contrast major characters from secondary characters. We see Hamlet strengths and weaknesses through characters like Fortinbras and Laertes other secondary characters include Polonius, Ophelia and Gertrude. Firstly, Hamlets inability to act upon revenge is foiled by Fortinbras ability to conquer.Secondly, Hamlets and Laertes have different relationships with their fathers. Through these relationships we see Hamlets struggle of revenge foiled by Laertes rash decision-making. Thirdly, Laertes and Hamlet share a similar obsession towards women but for different reasons. Hamlet is a complex indiv idual who lets his fatal flaw lead to his tragedy.

Because the network is comprised of 10 workstations and the manger as well as the CEO will be using laptops I have chosen to use fiber optic instead of regular cable especially due to the amount of noise present in cable communication media with a DSL / Digital Subscriber Line internet connection while incorporating wireless service for laptops and visiting employees as well as those who work from home.Though Fiber-optic seem to be a bit pricy my decision to go with Laser Fiber Optic was based the company needing the computers to be up and running all da y and making sure that the lines are secured. Secondly because the company is thinking of expanding to another floor we need the transmission head for the hills to maximize, so 100 kilometers as far as transmission range is important. The only other alternative media that I would consider is the thick coaxial cable but we would need to incorporate the use of repeaters after a 100meters when the company is ready to expand. The main issue to consider is how secure this line is which is the reason wherefore Fiber-optic would be the most trusted and efficient. My third reasoning behind choosing fiber again is the potential noise issues which could slow down the network and cause disturbances. Two specific points where I think noise will be present are when employees are working from home trying to connect through the VPN connection in windows XP there can be attenuation issues which is loss of signal strength. The VPN connections allow window XP clients to connect to a VPN remote acces s server by using PPTP and LT2P network protocols.Secondly with the wireless network infrastructure implemented if too many users are trying to use the same blood (not enough bandwidth to go around) and the adapter settings are not done properly then there are bound to be interruptions with the data transmission, any form of signal issue is a potential for noise. My recommendation to eliminate this issue would be keeping the routers in an area central to the rest of the devices that will be connecting and changing the wireless channel on the router associated with the wireless connection. The key devices needed to put the network together are 2 servers, (one will be used for backup although we are using cloud computing) CAT6 cable, 2 wireless routers / wireless switches, a network adapter and a repeater. All these devices together links up all the local and remote network segments with each other to make data communication flow better. Because of the size of the network there are a number of peripheral, devices applications and data that will be shared by users on the network. Some of the peripheral devices include the router and modem which will be used to connect all the computers, the printers and copiers, scanners for scanning documents and file and folder sharing. Some of the application software shared will be emails, internet and the web browser. Everyone on the network will also share the same operating system which will be windows 7. The document sharing will be shared among the users on the same network because they all will be connected to the main server. When updates need to be made it wont be sent to individual computers instead it will be sent through the network and server so all computers are updated automatically. Although a license has to be purchased for every user who is using the software on their individual computers everyone will be able to share and use the same program or software on the network as long as they are connected. Because of the partial wireless nature of the network, there are a number of protocols with needed to be implemented. The two protocols that are implemented are PPPoE and PPP. PPPoE stands for insinuate to Point Protocol over Ethernet and PPP stands for Point to Point Protocol which is a member of the TCP/IP suite of network protocols. PPP is normally used over serial communications ilk dial-up modem connections. The advancement of technology has brought hackers and cyber-attack at an all-time high, so securing the network deemed a bit challenging especially due to the wireless part which possess security and technical challenges. Some of the security issues include viruses, worms, denial or service, hackers and the list goes on. To secure the data on the LAN I will be implementing Data Encryption Standard which is a commonly used encryption method used to send and receive secure transactions. To avoid and intercept viruses and worms I implemented an antivirus called the Symantec Endpoint Pro tection. Symantec Endpoint Protection offers great performance and support for virtual environments antivirus scans are reduced because of layering technologies like insight which lowers the risk of cyber criminals. The third form of security that I have implemented is the use of a firewall. A firewall is a system or conclave of systems that supports an access control between two networks so in this case it would be between my LAN and the WAN which is the World Wide Web. A firewall limits users on the internet from accessing certain portions of a corporate network and can limit internal users from accessing various parts of the internet. This is where access control would play a part. Firewalls keep an eye on in two basic types, packet filters and proxy servers.Packet filters examines all incoming and outgoing transmissions and filter out those transmissions that are deemed illegal. Proxys on the other hand are computers running at the entrance to a computer network and acting as a gatekeeper. Finally because of the wireless part of my network I will need to make sure that there is wireless security implemented by making sure that a discussion is used to long in. The use of WAP (Wi-Fi Protected Access) will be used as the encryption key to keep the wireless segment protected and secured. In relation to personal security I recommend always locking up the server rooms, turning them off will save on king but wont avoid unauthorized persons from tampering, ensuring that there are good locks on the server door is crucial. Secondly disconnecting and removing computers that are not being used and locking them up is a way to prevent hackers from accessing unsecured computers that are connected to the network. Employees who are out to lunch should also lock their computer to avoid the fellow employee from accessing files that they are not authorized to see.The third physical security option is disabling the drives If you want to prevent your employees from copying i nformation to a removable media disabling or removing floppy drives, USB ports and any means of connecting to external drives is important. Disk locks can be inserted into floppy drives on the computers that are restricted. The forth physical security I would install is a backup server, not at the current location but somewhere away from the office. In case there is a fire in any of the office or someone messes with any of the computers, the files will be stored at a secure location extracurricular of any of the offices that the company in question has. Network security starts at the physical level, having firewalls wont deter an intruder who is able to gain physical access to your network and computers so locking up well is the key. Although every aspect of the network was addressed there were some issues that came up towards the end of the shake off right when the company was about to lunch the new system. The 2 deficiencies that came up were related to the hardware which was asso ciated with the physical structure of the network as well as performance issues. Part B Proposal Document Project Justification The LAN has the potential to be a great network because it has the potential of expanding into a WAN, so to address the problems which were just discovered I have put together a proposal which is guaranteed to eliminate the hardware and performance issues associated with the connection on the network. It is important that the hardware issues which includes the printers, telephone lines and VPN connectors are dealt with before the new network is completely lunched because not only is invoicing done for clients in the New York, but the office in Tokyo needs to access the same files and need to be able to send documents to the printer/ fax machines with no encumbrance. The current infrastructures VPN connection was not configured correctly so during testing it was brought to my knowledge that anyone who would be working from home would have issues getting a con nection.Secondly with the instalment of the VoIP telephones we realized that the connection was not clear and any long distance calls which went over 5 minutes would be disconnected. The performance issues which had been a problem from designing stemmed from me not taking into consideration the applications that were going to run on the network and the use of a hub instead of a switch.
